after the other thread about love actually perhaps we could post a list of companies who have behaved well or poorly towards people with special needs...... name and shame them....

Thomcat - we will all be behind you - you can be our spokeswoman.... for those of us not brave enough to do it ourselves..

agree though eidsvold. Asda for insinuating I am too lazy to walk my daughter round the store when asking for a disabled trolley!

lou33 · 22/03/2004 16:23

Sorry Fio, they said what?!

fio2 · 22/03/2004 16:26

got to say though Asda do employ alot of SN adults and so do Marks and Spencer, I would love my dd to work in M&S so I could get a discount on the food, yum!

fio2 · 22/03/2004 16:28

ooo lou you snuck in there! I asked for a disabled trolley when I had dd with me and they tried to talk me out of it, saying they were too difficult to push. Then the woman behind the counter said I just didnt want my dd running round the store >>tut tut

Tesco cafe and store in Guildford, for firstly just shrugging shoulders and walking off when I was struggling (and failed) to get ds2 into one of their highchairs because of his legs. The woman was happy enough to stand and gawp while fought to untrap him when he got wedged, but couldn't be arsed to find anything suitable he might uses instead. Walked off when she was asked a question. And to the laughably called customer services, when i asked where the disabled trollies were. They only had one apparently, and that was vandalised. So what was I supposed to do with ds2? Dunno, shrug, next mug please.

lou33 · 22/03/2004 16:36

fio2 · 22/03/2004 16:38

Thomcat · 22/03/2004 17:12

STOP!
I'll have 2 minutes (??) to be as positive as i can about DS! My head is bursting already!!

I'd love to name and shame some people / companies out there but I want this to be a positive thing, so that pregnant women now and in the future will have positive thoughts in their heads, as well as the negative issues they will be bombadered with my professaionals, when their test shows their unborn child may have DS.

Perhaps I'll suggest another show and we can all go and name and shame people!
