Hi

I'm so happy for my DS, he is four, severely delayed in speech..but he has made himself a new friend... he did have another friend, but sadly his friend moved away.

The mum and I have been friends since childhood, though as she lives a bit far, we don't really see much of each other. Though whenever she comes down with her DS, to my house..they are always playing with each other and I can comfortably say that her DS and mine are friends.

DS always initiates to play with her son, this could be handing him a ball, or showing his toys to him. But as her DS loves rough and tumble, they mainly did this, they also role-played and were sharing turns when playing with a toy.

But, as they make so much noise and where I live, the walls and ceiling are not really secure, she invited her DS and me to sleepover on the weekend. DS is not really routine orientated, so I'm sure he may like it..

I'm just proud of him as my DS can be quite shy, but he is making progress.

That's good to hear I know how you feel my Ds had a 'friend' knock for him the other day...a first...I was overjoyed!
I hope the sleepover goes well Smile
