Hi how your ds doing in the new school?

devientenigma · 20/04/2014 23:16

He's doing great, thanks. The school and staff are fab. He's on an individual alternative curriculum. The LA obviously still would like to the cut the cost of the placement, however he went downhill at Christmas and they have upped the cost and he is now 52 week placement with reduced hours in the holidays. So very lucky to have him out tomorrow for 3 hours, especially with it being bank holiday. Apart from this everything else has become even more restricted, isolating, demanding etc but I have been told it could be the knock on effect of him starting to lose his control with education being successful iykwim. Hope your holidays and Easter went ok.

Sorry to hear things feel worse but I expect you're right that it stems from his needs being met now.

devientenigma · 20/04/2014 23:58

Thanks Starlight, although some areas have got harder, some of it is easier, especially on me as I now don't have him 24/7.

Hi devient glad to see you, good news that your Ds placement is working out. Hope it continues Smile

Glad it's going well. There's a lot to be said for maintaining a bit of routine for the LOs and a bit of a break for ourselves (looks sideways at DS2 who is thoroughly bored and restless and into everything, at the moment)

I'm so glad things are getting better, Devientenigma. Happy Easter Smile

Hiya Devientenigma. Was wondering how you and ds were getting on. It sounds like the school are stubbornly determined to improve life for him. Nice to hear they have some nonpathological unreasonable-demand resistantavoidance when it comes to dealing with your LA Grin

Hi everyone, thanks. Can I say I'm loving my free time, though not quite free just catching up on the last 4 year, decorating, putting the house right etc all pretty boring. Need to work on getting a life and how to communicate again with DH.

Now,that school seems to be getting there ( though still not in the statement) I just need the LA to continue the 52 week placement and then sort respite.

He's had his fringe trimmed today. They've been working on a programme for the last few months. Starting with the change in terms from hair cut to trim due to him taking things literally. I would never of give that a thought. He's at the hair salon every Monday. He watches football while the lads talk to him about it, the hairdresser just done a few snips here and there with breaks in between.

How is everyone? Is everyone's kiddies back at school?
