Ds2 was so good at the dentist today

The whole family went to the dentist today - not Ds2's favourite place. Ds1 dutifully went first to demonstrate and we said to Ds2 -"then it will be your turn" which led to a series of wails of "it won't be my turn" and I thought here we go. But he was really good. He lay back on the chair by himself and even tried to open his mouth and the dentis managed to get a look at most if not all of his teeth. What made me really proud was that I could see he was nervous but that he was really trying to be good rather than it just happening that we got him on a "good" day.

He is really proud of himself too and keeps telling us the story of how Ds1 went first, then Ds2 then it was Mummy's turn then Daddy.

What a brave little boy you've got there

That's brilliant! So far we've only had the gritted teeth...

Call me melodramatic, but oh my...!...the thought of the dentist and ds makes my blood run cold. He's not too bad about having his teeth cleaned, but sitting still under bright lights and opening his mouth upon instruction whilst a strange person looks down at him!...how on earth do we do this? ds is 4 soon and he's never been. Any tips on how to do this? ds's understanding is relatively limited.
