FFS - had another SEN officer from the LA turn up at my house this morning

my daughter fell over at school yesterday so pop her to the walk in clinic at the hospital as her ankle was swollen and she found it painful - its all okay - shes sprained it so ive taken her back to school and shes to do no pe for a few weeks to let it heal.

anyway = whilst sat in the hospital with my daughter a voicemail message came through from the sen officer to say she had had my email yesterday and wanted to discuss it. she then said I have been to your house this morning and hand delivered a letter to you! it was the minutes from the meeting last week - I cannot see any urgency on why these needed to be hand delivered - they could have posted them, they could have emailed them, they could have even included it in their response on Thursday!

I have an awful feeling that on Thursday when the deadline is for the LA is to respond that again they will turn up at my house - I will be brutally honest I am finding it quite intimidating. I know no one else in my LA gets this privilege but am I over reacting/over sensitive! can I tell them to stop! I think its also cos sometimes I hand deliver stuff into their main reception rather than posting it but that's to a generic receptionist - im not going to the sen officers home to do it.

the minutes of course are all one sided - they say nowhere where the teacher repeatedly stated that as she is not 6 years behind they will not call an EP or specialist teaching in. teacher quoted saying shes making fantastic progress but doesn't actually give any levels to back this up!

feeling rather stressed as sen officer said she would phone back at 10.30am!!!! don't want to speak to her at all.

star - that's what I thought. we have a caravan - our drive full of left over building supplies as just had a big renovation done with 2 new bathrooms but my home is a semi 1970s nothing to say about house from a family who main earner works in a factory.

we even have sign on the post box saying no junk mail - may have to get the dh to change the wording to include no hand deliveries from LA officers as well!

They probably also scared of their own unlawful blanket policy and s**t policy. If they haven't been to Tribunal yet for anyone else because of refusal to assess, then noone has dared challenge these policies before now. It wouldn't surprise me if a lawyer has now been all over their policies because of you, and have told them that they don't have a hope.

The house-visits is the best they can do. Madness! But in your favour Grin

we have a huge window on the front straight into our living room so she could have a good nosey - house was a mess though ! if I had known she was coming I would have got the intervention table out for her Grin

got the intervention table out

lol. Hopefully you've also got its twin - the "lack of progress" table next to it? Which table would you sit her at?

bjkmummy · 04/03/2014 11:57

the policy was buried towie - its not published anywhere - ive only got it cos ive asked them for it - PP had a copy which they sent to me which is a more up to date version than the one I have! so they couldn't even get that right. so its likely that not a single parent previously would even know this policy exsisted. It was someone on here who told me to ask PP for it and shes a bit wild in my area so happily gave it me. I asked them to specific exactly how she didn't meet the criteria - they just referred to the section rather than to specifics.

they also cocked up the panel as well and haven't followed their own 'criteria' which is something I must challenge asap as its clear there are other things that the LA have that they are not sharing as they've made reference to them but them when all the paperwork came , they were missing.

Does it look like this?

StarlightMcKingsThree · 04/03/2014 11:59

I imagine you're going to have to get yourself a 'table of unsolicited home visits' too!

TOWIE2014 · 04/03/2014 12:02

It's getting a bit Harry Potter-ish - next we'll have a room of requirements!

bjk - have you served their policy on themselves and the Tribunal? No doubt they won't serve the policy, but you must so the Tribunal has it before them in all its illegal glory during the hearing.

bjkmummy · 04/03/2014 12:09

no - but will do at some point - its all in my photocopying pile to be done - im waiting to see what they serve on Thursday - shall we take bets that the policy will be there? I will also serve the school LA one was well as that's what the teacher will refer to when she gives evidence - although at the beginning it also states each case to be looked at individually

I'm getting confused here - what is next Thursday? Is it evidence deadline? If so, you'll have the same date as them to serve your stuff.

bjkmummy · 04/03/2014 12:14

no this Thursday is for the LA to respond and tell us who they are calling, next Thursday its my turn to send my form back re witnesses and then at the beginning of april is the date when ALL evidence has to be in. on Thursday the la will tell the tribunal why they are opposing.

towie - can you look quickly at the thread ive just put on re child views as im not sure what to do. they want an answer asap
