school have asked for copy of the parental advive for SA before I send it to the LA

The SENCO has today asked (via my exh) for me to get a copy of the parental advice to her by Friday.

The LA asked me to get it to them next week. They didn't mention it going via school

Is this normal?

I wouldn't have hesitated but felt school (with LA) played games when I put the request in. I went to see school when I applied. They confirmed within a couple of days that the LA had asked them to get docs together. 6 weeks later they then said they had never been asked and this then delayed the decision to SA by 6 weeks.

I want to make amendments at the weekend so it won't be ready by Friday anyway.

ive not handed a copy to the school before in my 2 previous statement applications for my sons. ive just sent them straight to the LA that way I had control that everything had been sent. I don't think I even gave the school a copy after I had sent it to the LA

I'm not giving mine to the school. They asked two hours before the initial request for my views! When I was at work - working! Shambles

Thank you for the replies. I'll only see her now on Friday so I'll have to explain it isn't finished if she asks. Then decide over the weekend whether to send school a copy.

im going through it again now for the 3rd time for my daughter - again I wouldn't give them to the school however I have overheard on the school playground that the other parents have given the school a copy beforehand. I think it depends on how much you trust the school and what your relationship is like with them. they may want it for genuine reasons - who knows - I would go by your instincts but theres nothing that says that you have to give it to them
