An article that describes WHY we fight so hard for behavioral interventions

I found this article truly horrific to read, BUT it left me more determined than ever to push ahead with whatever I may need to do in the years to come to help my son modify his own behavior while he is still young enough to do so.

You CANNOT rely on the legal system to help, and if you have found child services awful then this is a warning that adult services can be considered to be as barbaric as the inquisition at times.

It's to stop this sort of thing happening in the future to our children is the reason why ultimately we keep fighting. It's illegal to declaw a cat in this country but a human doesn't seem to have the same rights.

p.s Please don't read the article if you are feeling even the slightest bit sensitive today - I cried and I'm no soft touch as a general rule. I'll be writing to my MP to express my disgust at this verdict, but I don't know what else I can do.

I agree it's horrific but I don't know if this is new, the LD hospitals previously evident subjected adults to awful treatment and few rights were upheld.

Polter - you won't ever get the full story as these courts are held in secret by carrots with more legal jurisdiction over all our lives than is healthy. There is a campaign to change the law to prevent abuse, but it is so ill-supported I hold out no hope for improvement.

It's so important to note that the authorities can get up to all sorts of tricks once our children are adults as the system doesn't even bother with the pretence of accountability.

I agree about what goes on behind closed doors in relation to adult abuse but it goes on with children too and those that try to expose face significant consequences.
