On holiday in Spain with dh, dd (8) and ds (6) who has ASD and learning difficulties. Arrived here on new years eve - last minute holiday as ds was climbing the walls at home as the weather has been so bad we haven't been able to get out and about much - so we booked cheap last minute flights, a car and a villa and here we are!!
All was going well until we went shopping today and ds refused to move from the supermarket aisle with the cleaning products - it transpired that he wanted Finish Quantum dishwasher tablets! I've never bought them so I don't know what it was about them, maybe he remembered the advert or just liked the look of the red ball on them!!! Dh has never seen him meltdown as bad as that before while out shopping as it's usually me that has to deal with the day to day stuff so it was good in that respect ........he had to carry ds out of the shop, still screaming something about "quantum"!!!!
We usually carry cards in French / Spanish when we are away to give to people in case ds has a meltdown and people don't understand - never had to use them before but could have done with some today but of course I didn't have any today!!!!
