Did you create a "pre-school" book for your ASD child?

Hi, i asked Socci this because she brought it up.. my boy is going to preschool this sept and i wanted to prepare a small "introduction to my boy" via a small pamphlet/folder to tell the school about him in more detail, eg. behaviours and how we handle them in his ABA program, diet restrictions, and what not.

Any ideas on the book, have any of you done this and what was your school's reaction? Do they refer to it? Do you send in a "diary" for them to keep notes in and to return to you each day?

Yes, and it was really helpful for the staff. It was actually our home visiting pre-school teacher (that's what they're called in our area!) who suggested the 'passport' as she called it and she collated it but I helped too.
DD not ASD though but as she doesn't speak it was a good introduction. It contained pictures of the family (plus dogs!), some basics about DD - things she liked and disliked, how adults could help her and so on. It was very easy to read and contained loads of photos so anyone going into the special nursery group to help would have a basic understanding of her needs.
It was then updated for her transition to school.

Had a sudden thought and remembered I'd saved it so I've just had a quick look.

The headings we used were -

My Strengths
Eating and Drinking
Medical Info
Communication

It was written in the first person as if it were DD explaining and as it was to be accessible obviously there was nothing of a confidential nature.
