Can anyone recommend good paediatrician for ADHD or ASD diagnosis?

Quick background - DD (5) displays a variety of symptoms but mainly Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity and Sensory Issues. GP agrees that she should be referred (thinks likely to be ADHD but not ruling out Aspergers etc.), but as we want to go private has asked if we have any preferences for a consultant.

We are in Sussex area but London would be fine.
If anyone has any recommendations I would be very grateful, as I don't really know where to start to find one! Or should I just go with the paediatrician in my local hospital?

A friend of mine used a lady called dr Jo jones from healthcare4kids - just put a www. Before the healthcare and a .co.uk after kids. I have no connection with her at all. I just know she's a private consultant paediatrician.

It's probably something that dr daphne keen would be able to diagnose on. I think ADHD is one of her specialisms as well as ASD. She's very well respected on here and we found her report on our DS excellent.

I would second Daphne Keen. We took DD (8) to her and she diagnosed her with ASD and ADHD. She's very good in diagnosing girls who don't always fit the diagnostic criteria.

Thanks you all for your recommendations - just done a quick search of MN on Daphne Keen and see how many people rave about her - so going to try and get an appointment, but will look at the others too.
