DD ASD age 4 first day of school

She attends MS with full 1:1 on a part time basis. Teachers say she was happy but since coming home she has refused to talk except to say that all the people made her sad. She is now rocking wwhile finger sucking and ear smoothing.

Any suggestions on the best thing to do?

Only just seen this.

How is she doing now?

I'd have put a weighted blanket over her and given her some quiet time.

is she any better?

I think don't ask questions, just give her what comforts her. Poor girl - it's a lot to take in for any child, let alone a child who needs support.

Thank you she stayed that way all night but has woken up ok. I will have her weighted blanket ready for after school today and maybe set up a den as she Likes to hide when stressed.

Did she go to Preschool or nursery self ?

If she did, what were her stress levels like there ?
