Seeing pead tomorrow - any ideas on questions

He has no dx. He is 6. Been under her care since he was two. He is failing at school and I am taking my lea to tribunal at refusal to assess so has never been seen by external agencies at school. He has seen ot who indentified SPd and dyspraxia.

I want to come away with a clear path to a diagnosis or referral to someone who can dx. As well as the problems above we suspect learning dificulties and suspect asd.

How do I come out without more delays tomorrow?

How many times has Paed seen him? Could you ask for referral to tertiary unit? In a sort of reverse caring carrot stylee? Would that provide impetus? Seems ridiculous given the situation with school/LEA?

Pead has seen him at least ten times over four years. Apart from referral to ot nothing comes out of our meetings

TEN times? I'm sorry, I don't know your ds's particular difficulties but ten times is A LOT.

in all honesty now given the situation with LEA and school I would refuse vacate Paed's office tomorrow until all reasonable referrals/assessments have been instigated as a matter of urgency.

what handywoman said.

I once sat in my GP's room and refused to leave without referral for a dev paed for Dd. Blush

Do you have anybody to take with you?
I make sure DP comes along whenever we anticipate a battle for things. and I thnk it helps.

Dh is coming tomorrow. I bet pead says she has asked school for reports but school are not replying. If that's the case dh is playing 'bad cop' and going to complain to the head teacher and say its going to governers if they don't write to the pead by the end of the week.. Anyho that's all good for tribunal if that's the case. Let the school repeatedly demonstrate how incompatant they are. I have to keep labouring the point that school is unable / unwilling / too bloody crap to help. Anyway surely the pead can by pass any school reports by going direct to a asd assessment / neuro disability team. My baby is under a neuro pead because ds has this Undiagnosed issue - I know it's a joke. But you can't get more pushy and proactive then me - it just all gets me know where. I have complained to the nhs and people all got bollocked over ds - nothing. My mp wrote and complained and phoned on my behalf ( he is a Secretary of State) nothing. If i stood outside the houses of parlament and killed myself I would still get ignored. Wits end does not explain how I feel.

Hard to feel like your not surrounded by idiots some days. Them I'm told I'm trying to rush ahead and skip steps. Like getting any progress before ds natural life span has expired is asking for too much.

Then your just left wondering if ds is really just very normal and indeed, it's me that has the neurological issues.
