So the doc was supposed to be refering dd for assesment, backed by the school, I have put it off for years but finally bit the bullet. Anyway a month ago we ahd the second doc appointment as they wanted to see dd and have a letter from school. School wrote me a letter saying she needs referring, doc assured me she would send a referal. After chatting with a friend last week I decided to chase up; the referal as I havent heard anything lthoough I know thses things take forever so hadnt really thought about it.

Was told that the childrens centre that does the assesment have recieved no referall for dd, neither has the ot. So I phoned the docs, thye have sent the referal to MAST to refer on as needed, only we are already under MAST, saw MAST worker this morning and she has assured me that MAST do not refer for assesment and the referal for assesment has to come from the GP. Doc in question is on holiday. Alol they said at the surgery is they would put a note on the diary for her.

I honeslty dont know who to chase or what to do. I have a meeting with the SENCO at school on weds for parents review, but I have nothing new to say, dd's behaviour is getting owrse and she obviously has anxiety but I dont know why so have no idea how to reduce it. (I have tried everything I can think of).
Is there anyway I can pay someone to do these assesments privatly, not that I can afford it but dd seems to be getting lost in a system that doesnt care because she is well behaved at school and achieving within the limits of what is acceptable for her year.
I know none of these things are big and people here cope with so much more but I am not coping right now and neither is my little girl.

Can you see another doctor and get them to refer?

Also yes you can pay privately. I'm having ds privately assessed next month. CAMHS are refusing to assess as school aren't having a problem. I also found out ythey don't like to assess before aged 8, I'm guessing that's more what it is. I refuse to wait another 3 years!!

What I tend to do is find out exactly who I want Dd3 referred to and then go to the GP to request the referral.

Your senco or mast (whoever they are) worker should be able to give you a name of someone who can help you and your Dd.

Good luck Smile

I am going north (I'm right down south). I found huin through recommendations. Literally word of mouth. I never researched just asked people who I trust and know have had/are thinking of getting their child assessed.
