Pfftttpp! My case worker for assessment says she's not on the panel

Just a admin worker who has no dealing in the case. She has forwarded my complaint onto the head of special needs who sits on the panel.

Does this smell fishy?

you mean the 'panel' that refused SA?

I thought the panel is only smokescreen and the person who has the responsibility of deciding whether an assessment takes place is the case officer.

That's what I thought, but it that's not my case worker tells me.

Maybe the smell is Teflon?!

tbh, I would not waste time with them. just get the appeal in.

letter on IPSEA site

This is a letter from the DfE advising local authorities on this issue. The very last paragraph is relevant for you. maybe you should remind your case worker ;-)

Don't worry the appeals already gone in. I am enjoying some relative peace waiting for the dates. I only wrote to the lea to vent my anger.

They are lying to you.

Every case has a legally responsible Case Officer assigned - as chocnomore has pointed out.

If she is NOT your caseworker, then could she please forward you the full name and direct contact details of the person that is, as soon as possible. It's simply terrible that the council is currently in breach of the law, and you wouldn't want this lovely admin worker to cop the flack for that Wink.

IPSEA will guide you towards to the light side.

Ah, the calm before the storm and you have twitchy fingers and nowhere yet to spend your frustration........

Get your paperwork in order. Research case law. Read through your correspondences with the LA for anything that might need clarification at tribunal and write those letters asking for it.

Stay off the phone.
