DD1 (8) struggles hugely socially and finds out of school clubs very difficult, but is very keen to try them. She's does scouting and has done since she was 5, but doesn't really have much to do with the other kids.
She has ADHD and not-diagnosed-yet ASD (repeat ADOS in a couple of weeks, that's a whoooole other thread
)
Did dancing for a year but it all went to pot when she had to move up a class and was expected to be a bit more mature. Bullying ended that for her.
She tried football - let's just say I don't think team sports are really her thing!
She did art club at her old school and loved it but her new school doesn't seem to have one yet.
This week she is joining gymnastics (tonight) and recorder club at school (tomorrow lunchtime)
I'm just desperately crossing my fingers and hoping she finds her 'thing'! She really needs this something that she can be good at. Gymnastics sounds promising - she's incredibly slim (very underweight really
) and flexible and I'm hoping her concentration won't be an issue as she's medicated for her ADHD (but only really school hours which this will be after and argh now I'll all panicking again!!!)
Please please let her find her thing!!
