Thats it really, I just wanted to let you all know.

We dont know what rate DLA she is getting yet, they text me to say she has been awarded it though.Grin

The SENCO isnt quite so happy though, after she suggested that I put the request in, when I told her I had done it she said she didnt remember the conversation and came over all shocked Shock

I am not bothered, I fell empowered and have decided to take the role as Lead Professional and just go for it.

I have contacted the SALT's and OT's too to request up to date reports and they have agreed!

So far so good but some honks would be good as I dont expect it to go smoothly.

Honk honk! It probably will be a bumpy ride but as you say your empowered now! We are here together to hold hands etc when a nasty bump knocks your wheel off! In two weeks I have changed my sons senco from saying he will never get a statement too - I think he has a case for a statement! Miracles can happen...

Honk Honk!

Well done Ineed! Honks from me. X

Thanks both Grin

I had a couple of really down weeks when poor Dd3 so clearly wasnt coping but now I feel like I know where I am heading.

We have found a new paed too which I forgot to mention. The referral is in but dont know how long we will have to wait. I will chase that tomorrow. Grin

I simetimes think every week is 'the worse week' but looking back things have come on a long long way. It's 90% down to my work. You will amaze yourself. When you think it's a hard week, just stop and think back to where you have come from. Hang onto these positive feelings

I will 2boys we really have been fairly close to rock bottom lately with Dd3 going as far as complete school refusal 2 weeks ago.

Having said that, that was a turning point for us. I told school that if they didnt do something the placement was likely to fail.

Since then, they have taken me more seriously and I have been on their cases regularly!

It is down to our hard work I agree, luckily I havent quite run out of steam yet so I will get my head down and fight another battle.

I dont have a choice!! Its for Dd3, she is amazing and lovely and deserves to be happy Grin

That's great , if you want to know the rate before the letter arrives just call them they will tell you the rate and award length over the phone.

Ineedmorepatience · 17/10/2013 16:30

Yes EJ she is in yr 6, she started saying she couldnt go into yr6 back in the summer. She knows time is going really fast and Secondary is looming.

Thanks soon I will do that if there is no letter tomorrow Smile

Bizzey Its ok to get down so long as you dont give up and stay down.
