We have our first appojntment with CAMHS this week after waiting 5 months since referral by paed.
Was very pleased to get the referral for ADOS and they have also requested Connors info up front.
Am now fretting that they wont take us seriously.
I have all the reports from ed psych, behaviour unti, paed and our input that went to statement request...plus the statement of support that is needed,
But iam irrationally worrying they will just think we exaggerated, or that the way we have adapted to support ds is part of thr problem.

For a significant amount of time Ds does fine, can interct with his peers and learns well, and is a delight to be around....and the rest of the time he is demand avoidant, alevaiting anxiety by climbing and jumping, spinning, putting himslef in danger, hugging strangers and sensory seeking, being very emotional or having meltdowns (particularly at school). We all need help understanding how to help ds.

Does everyone feel like this before the first appointment?
