Spoke to school yesterday about getting rd enrolled. Now first of all they said September then four weeks after the start of term now they are saying after half term.

Ed psych wrote in her report that Dd requires full time 1:1 including lunch and break times. Now school have informed me that if she gets it the 1:1 will be shared among the rest of the class.

Another problem is they will only let Dd Start two hours a day which I am fine with. But they won't give a time on when she can do more hours. She also said she doubts dd will be given full 1:1 so will go many hours without any additional support. Is all of this right? To me it's not 1:1 if dds support worker is shared out. I also don't see any reason for her to be they have enough staff atm so why do they need dds support worker.

Oh the reason it's urgent is because I am speaking to the school today.

I think the staggered entry to school is normal but not the sharing 1 to 1, certainly not if in statement

I don't have a statement yet. I'm quite happy about the staggered entry but I just want to know how long she is gonna have this.

do you have it in writing from the EP that your dd needs full time 1:1? if so apply for a statement immediatly and send the EP report as evidence. ipsea have model letters etc and are really useful for sen laws etc.
regarding the school I would say that you are applying for a statutory assessment based on the EP report and that you would expect that the EPs advice would be adhered to eg full time 1:1 for your dd. if the school are unable to provide this request it in writing and submit it to the LEA.

I have it in writing yes thank you I will do all you have suggested.

I really wouldnt hang around tbh if you have EP approval for full time 1 to 1 and start statement process rolling. :)

from gut instinct and a bad experience a school can drag this out for as long as they want to.

Another thought is so far you have agreed to this staggered entry. There is a way to hurry the motions up is by giving them a length of reasonable time and request a date that she is to become full time (best to do this in letter/email form for a paper trail) once the deadline is up you can then disagree with having her no less than full time.

This would mean the school is illegally excluding her from her education and if they try to continue it is possible to refuse to collect her till end of school day OR you are issued with a letter explaining why and that the exclusion is logged.

This will change things and maybe you will find out exactly how good this school is or isnt x
