Arsehole of a teacher rant needed!(if any one is up !!)

Had a thread going earlier about ds yr5 and I both going to see SENCO to go through his IEP .

Senco ok ...lots of things put on paper his IEP says ..target...learn remember and write (properly!) HF and C-V-C words...fine

He misssed his play today for not getting his spellings right...he had to write them out (18 of them) again (x 10 but not sure on that bit !) ...circumference...autograph....circuit...circulation...circumstance.... and so forth

He could write these words a 100 times and still not know them ...he had to copy them from a sheet .

He has ?spld asd (still awaiting dx)and major anxiety issues and hypermobility in his hands and body) which is causing other hand writing issues!

New teacher to school of "old school" method I think ....Only 8 months to go !!! actually really

Poor ds...it all depends on the context the spellings were set in but it seems so unkind. I can see why you are ranting. Unkind teachers are arseholes.

Perhaps you could talk to the SENCO to see if she will enlighten the teacher about how punishing a child for his disability is serious discrimination? And how maybe the school won't be too amused if it is dragged up in front of the tribunal as a result of this teacher's actions?

I'd call urgent meeting with head, teacher and SENCO..this is punishing him for his disability and discriminatory and illegal..and totally unacceptable.

Thanks ...Teacher is the heads spouse ...but I will catch CT in the morning to clarify. Even if ds did (which he more than likey did ) get them wrong ...he should not miss his play time for .

I have an older ds who "remembered" he should have done home work as we pulled up to school in the car and I said tough face the conscences...so I am not a weak mother ...but I know when to fight !!

Just it seems I have been fighting along time for him
