My friend tried them and said they were useless, she felt she knew more than them...

If you are looking at legal aid, the only good one is sadly Maxwell Gillot..

I agree with babiki. I've not heard good things about Coram.

I rang them for advice and it was a waste of time. They advised me to consider a jr but I was out of timescale for that

I was using it via great solicitor and if I need him again I will just have to pay - he was so angry about the whole situation.

Don't legal aid allow you to choose which solicitor you get put through to? That's outrageous!
