(((YIKES!!!!))) I'm starting to get very nervous now
It seems ridiculous to me that we've had to come this far just to have DS1 assessed.
Well I'd better get off to bed now (got to get the 7am train to London!)

Hi Davros. No news

I phoned them again and they said that this particular Chair has sometimes taken 7 weeks to send them a decision! I cant beleive they do not have a deadline for them. Apparently there is nothing we can do except wait...

Hi RexandBen - surely there is something in the legislation that says the Chair of the Tribunal has to comply with deadlines! This is really awful and you must be so frustrated. Thinking about you all.

Thomcat · 18/03/2004 10:21

Can't believe this is still going on, poor you

RexandBen · 18/03/2004 13:14

SENDIST just called and said they received the decision this morning (OH MY GOD!) and they will be sending it first class so we should get it tomorrow. In a way I wish they hadnt phoned because I am terrified now and cant think of anything else And I know I wont beable to sleep tonight

Goodluck and fingers crossed for you!!!

Jimjams · 18/03/2004 13:40

OMG RexandBen. that is cruel- don't these people realise what it's like waiting. Hope the postman is early.

lou33 · 18/03/2004 14:31

Am crossing everything for you RnB.

Davros · 18/03/2004 16:47

Wow! Its going to arrive on a Friday? Everything we've ever had from our LEA that we might want to phone them about has arrived on a Saturday. My theory is that they do this deliberately to stop you ringing spontaneously and screaming and/or crying AND they're a lazy bunch who only get things finished at the end of the week
IME the Inland Revenue does the same, everything arrives at the weekend!

coppertop · 18/03/2004 18:42

That's so true, Davros! Letters from the IR always seem to arrive on a Saturday. I think it's because they hope we'll have calmed down a bit by Monday morning and won't be quite so inclined to use such colourful language when telling them they've made yet another mistake.

RexandBen - Making you wait like this is so cruel.

RexandBen · 19/03/2004 09:44

WE WON!!!!! (clapses in shock and emotional exhaustion!)

YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAH!!!

Congratulations!

Jimjams · 19/03/2004 10:07

FANTASTIC!!!!

This means they now have to carry out a statutory assessment doesn't it. Let shope they don't make you go to tribunal to get ABA. (she says cheerfully )

Well done. One finger up to the LEA. It IS worth fighting every step of the way.

Davros · 19/03/2004 10:43

Fantastic! You go and clapse!! I thought this was for ABA, no? Just for assessment?

RexandBen · 19/03/2004 13:16

Thank you!!!!!

Yes Davros, unfortunately just for assessment. They are determined not to fund this one, and are likely to drag us through 3 tribunals

But at least we're one down, two to go...!!!!

That's excellent news RnB, I'm really pleased for you! We can help each other through the assessment now!

eidsvold · 19/03/2004 15:26

brilliant news....

Stargazer · 19/03/2004 15:45

Well done - you must be feeling so pleased. Keep us posted with your news.

maddiemo · 19/03/2004 18:27

Congratulations. It is disgusting though that parents have to fight this hard. Good luck.

Jimjams · 19/03/2004 19:09

rexandben- just realised you said 3 tribunals. this wasn't a tribunal to assess whether or not they are going to assess was it?

RexandBen · 19/03/2004 19:32

yes Jimjams it was

Unbeleivable I know! 8 months down the line we are only just going to be assessed. Our LEA are very anti statements for pre-schoolers and also very anti ABA, so they are determined to make things very difficult for us.

Thanks everyone for all your kind words
