You could try

Mr Nick Wilson
Strategic Director for Children, Schools and Families
Penrhyn Road,
Kingston upon Thames,
Surrey,
KT1 2DJ

The Strategic Director for Children, Schools and Families at Surrey County Council is Nick Wilson and the Acting Assistant Director for Schools and Learning is Peter-John Wilkinson. They are members of staff, i.e. full time local government employees.

You may wish to CC the county councillor too. The cabinet member for Schools and Learning is Mrs Linda Kemeny.

Thank you so much, dreading doing this. I feel like I'm about to kick a hornets nest. Still, I wasn't winning any popularity contests with the school as it was.

Should I meet the senco to tell her? Or wait till the letter is posted?

It's nothing to do with the school though is it!

Your DS is YOUR DS, not theirs. The school is merely a public service, provided by the various layers of government and is paid for by us in our taxes. They're not God.

The teachers and the SENCO are public servants who get paid to do a job. They get their salary and benefits and go home at the end of the day regardless of whether your DS has a statement.

You are DS's mother and therefore you know him best, you're his lead therapist and best and only advocate.

Screw what the school want, do what you want.

2boys

Council office will give you this person's name upon you asking.

I would give them six weeks to reply, mark that date on your calendar.
