onlyjoking - Welcome to Mumsnet & the Special Needs section. My ds1 (3yrs 7mths) is autistic. Ds2 is 12 months old and so far seems to be NT.

onlyjoking9329 · 13/02/2004 19:43

Sorry!

Ds = dear/darling son
dd = dear/darling daughter
dp = dear/darling partner
dh = dear/darling husband

DS can also mean Downs Syndrome but it's usually obvious which one the person means.

coppertop · 13/02/2004 19:53

Oh, and forgot to say that ds1 means 'eldest son', ds2 'second eldest' etc.

eidsvold · 13/02/2004 20:01

hiya and welcome - I have a dd 18months old with Down's syndrome and a heart condition.

onlyjoking9329 · 13/02/2004 20:35

thanks for that, hopefully i will now know what people are talking about.

Hi onlyjoking. I've got an 8 year old boy with autism. I've also got an 11 month old baby girl who seems fine so far. Fingers crossed though as I also have an older sister (47yrs!) with Aspergers and a cousin who has a son who is autistic.
