Seeking recommendation for online retailer for Toys aimed at SN kids

I have found Fledglings, are there any other good ones out there? Specifically for 2yo girl with cerebral palsy - to develop fine and gross motor skills and have fun! She loves Minnie Mouse!

Also, any recommendations for an electronic toy? She loves her sister's innotab and apps on my phone but doesn't yet have the dexterity to use. I need something younger / easier for her to use.

All suggestions really welcome. Thanks.

There is a website I've used called cheapdisabilityaids.co.uk

They have loads of sensory toys and lots for motor skills.
I don't know about electronic toys sorry as dd is able to use an ipad but hopefully somebody else can help you in that area.

For whatever reason these links aren't working but if you google it then it should come up straight away.

I quite like sensory toy warehouse they do some cheap pocket money type toys that light up etc. I'd also consider an ipad, there are very basic cause and effect apps available (search Flo Longhorn apps for special learners on google), it's possible to get funding from the family fund if you meet their criteria to buy one, but do get a good protective case!

if you're on facebook there's plenty of groups selling sn equipment and toys that may be worth a look too.

These are all fantastic suggestions - the only thing I can add is if you find the prices on these web sites steep, use them for ideas, and then buy the toys in a mainstream shop. A lot of the "specialised" toys are available for a lot less than the special needs sites sell them for.

Also, do you have access to a toy lending library through Portage? That might be a good place to try things like switch adapted toys before putting out the money to buy them yourself (they can be very costly). There are also lots of tutorials online on how to switch adapt toys for only the cost of the wire and plug.

Hate to say it, but loads of this stuff can be found on amazon, now.

I found a great one on Ebay but can't find the card they sent with my purchase. I bought a great bath toy, which is a lovely light show and runs on batteries, both my boys love it and it makes bathtime fun.

Thank you so much everyone. I'll check out all those, and take the point if I see something I like, to compare prices for it in mainstream retailers. We're about to start portage in sep, so hopefully i'll get some more ideas and access to equipment from them too - thanks.

Another vote for Sensory Toy Warehouse, they seem quite cheap and it's quick delivery too.

Oh you lovely people! I haven't got past the first recommendation yet (cheap disability aids) and a whole new world has opened before me! I feel like I've been wandering round with my eyes shut .

I just wanted to share this. Since you guys mentioned SN apps and basic cause-and-effect apps, I think this is what I was after in relation to electronic toys (iPad way out of our scope). Cannot thank you lot enough

ninja thanks for flo longhorn tip. Just filled my phone with all sorts my dd will love! Definitely thinking about going android tablet now. Off to shop for pocket money toys now too. Thanks again to everyone. A real eye opener for me tonight.

They have appalling customer service. I brought a a £50 led blanket which I can't get returned. They sell some cheap faulty poor quality goods for which the customer can get no return.

I will also add half my order from cheap disability aids was missing when it arrived and was unable to get them to respond to my enquiries. Also what i did get was not as pictured or vastly overpriced. I would never order from the site again.

They'll know of computer games and equipment such as a joystick mouse, adapted keyboard designs etc that'll make all the difference.

We've used cheap disability aids and not had a problem, but seen load of Facebook complaints about them, so it's hit and miss.

iPads are fabulous with CP children just make sure you have a nice foam case to protect it. If she struggles with accuracy get some of those cheap stretchy gloves and cut off the tip of the finger she uses. Bingo! The iPad ignores all the miss hits. Cheapest tip ever
