Toilet training CP child. Mixed messages because of logistical problems!

DGS is 5 in september and due to start school. We have now got a seahorse sanichair for toileting...took a few weeks so delayed toilet training. We've been doing it for 2 weeks and today were rewarded with 2 wees on the toilet Smile

We had been doing 2 hourly and coinciding with water boluses (he has a gastrostomy) but it wasnt enough and the 1 hourly toileting did the trick...well on 2 occasions, but he can go for 2 hours and does big wees, so we know he is ready to toilet. Its just a bit unpredictable, which I am sure is the same with any child! Putting him on and off the chair is not easy and it all takes time away from walking, triking, ipadding etc and if I am not there DD has to round up her DH to help and with the after work fatigue etc the schedule wont be kept too. Also school dont have the toilet chair yet!

So this will confuse DGS, today a nappy tomorrow a loo, today...etc.

How did anyone with an older child manage this situation?
