Given a verbal dx last week but its not in the follow up letter from the pead

Should I be surprised? I guess this means I still have formal dx then? Does this matter? I am happy at least I have the verbal dx to work with.

Why won't anyone in the nhs comit to anything!

I would ring them and ask for the letter to include the diagnosis. It will be a useful letter to have for any situation where you might have to prove diagnosis. We used ours just to get into a zoo a bit cheaper. Also carry it when we travel. Maybe ask why it was omitted?
