PLEASE CAN YOU HELP - OR DO YOU KNOW ANYBODY WHO CAN ..?

I've just had an email from a a lady who run a DS charity.

One of the members of her charity has a little girl aged 6 1/2 that has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

The mother of the little girl wants to be in contact with another mum or dad who has been through this with their child who has Down's syndrome and would be happy to support her. She is strong, but needs to know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Has anyone been through this, know anything about it or do you know anybody who has?

If you could let me know and then I can pass any info onto the charity and onto the family of this little girl.

Thank you and here's hoping...........

There was alittle boy at my dd's school who had this but he had cerebal palsy. Unfortunately he died though and I dont think that would be much help. Life is just so unfair to some peopleSad

dont cafamily put people in touch who have similar circumstances?

Sorry I don't know of anyone but perhaps they can be put in touch with another parent at the hospital treating their daughter. My son's friend who has cancer and his family have been able to meet with others in their situation. I am sure they will have a contact family for them.

Thanks for the quick response girls. I'll pass on all your suggestions to Trudy, the lady who emailed me from the charity and she can pass the suggestions on for us.

Any suggestions, words of encouragment etc would be great.

Has she been in touch with Contact A Family , Thomcat? They seem to cover every type of condition. Good luck to the little one, I hope she does well.
