Hi, my daughter has SLD and is very tall for her age at 4 foot 8. She's started to get breast buds and has about 5 very obvious pubic hairs. She's noticed this and got very upset and was trying to pull them out! Sad I've explained that this will happen and that she'll end up looking like me. (Which horrified her!) Hmm I told her it was normal, and nothing to worry about, but she's not convinced.
Should I mention it to her one to one lady at school? She is very worried about changing for swimming next term. Are there any books that are age appropriate, that deal with these issues. I'd say her mental age is about 4/5.
Thanks. Smile

I would mention it to her 1:1 especially as she is worried about getting changed for swimming - her 1:1 could maybe make sure she has a bit more privacy for changing.

I got Amazing You, Getting smart about your Private Parts for my Ds. He was only 5 when I got it and there are a couple of bits I thought were a bit too old for him but the book was supposedly aimed at his age and the pics are bright, colourful and cartoony. Uses all the "proper" words for body parts etc.

Oh thank you both. Smile I will mention it to her one to one, and I'll look for that book. Thanks
