Today is a good day! The LEA have agreed to my request to carry out a statutory assessment! I've been told by senco, EPs, paediatricians and head teacher that my dds needs are not severe enough to need statutory assessment and to not apply! I applied anyway, after many sleepless nights doubting myself and worrying about my beautiful dd. today I found out they have agreed to iniate an SA! I couldn't of done it without the advice I have recieved from you wonderful MNetters so thank you so much :) :) :)

Huzzah!!.

Once you do receive the proposed statement you also need to get someone independent like IPSEA or SOSSEN to have a look at it particularly if it seems vague and woolly worded to you. Do write on here also when it arrives. This is so relevant when it comes to Parts 2 and 3 of this document; it needs to be bang on 100% right.

Provision has to be both specified and quantified as per case law; do not ever accept woolly worded statement provision!!.

Thank you Attila. That's my next step to ensure that the statement is both specified and quantified! I was fully expecting to have to have independant reports done for tribunal at this stage so am over the moon to have not needed them yet! It means I have enough ££ to ensure I can get an efficient statement :)
