Was sitting having coffee with friend in Coffee Club when a lady and her sister who happened to have SN came along. I leant over to move the buggy out of her way ( as the lady with SN went to sit down) Her sister said ti was not in the way and then said she loved babies.

Well dd2 who was sitting on the bench/couchy seat next to me - sat so nicely whilst this lady touched her and stroked her hands and smiled at her. Dd2 then did her put my thumb in mouth and head on the side cute look - and again let the lady stroke her face etc. (I was so worried dd2 would cry - she has been sooo sooky and clingy lately).

When the ladies had finished their coffee - the lady with sn smiled at dd2 and waved bye bye - and bless her dd2 said bye and gave her a lovely wave.

I was so proud of dd2 - other children may have been a bit concerned by this lady - but dd2 jsut sat so nicely and let her stroke her face etc.... almost made me cry.

That's a lovely story eidsvold. I actually think that, despite the problems, siblings of kids with SN benefit enormously (despite recent threads). I can see that ds1 is having a big influence on ds2's life in terms of dealing with people, and accepting children that are a bit different. Hopefully ds3 will be the same.

oh the recent thread I was thinking of wasn't on SN!! Sorry that sounded a bit odd. Anyhow yes, despite the difficulties, and not to underestimate them, I think our NT children will benefit enormously.
