hearing aids, but now glasses as well

Hi, DS has had hearing aids from 6 months old. He is 5. He will now have to wear glasses. There's going to be a lot going on behind his ears!

Does anyone have any tips on this? How to make it comfortable?

Thanks Smile

Lots of things you could try, but he might be OK with both. If he's not, then try re-tubing the aids so the tubes are longer and the hooks are further back. Or talk to the opticians about thin spectacle arms, possibly even ski goggle-style elastic. Toupee tape at the bottom of the aids might help if he's a wriggler Wink

Another thing worth looking at is this - www.connevans.co.uk/viewProduct.do?id=1506719 - it's designed for a cochlear implant, but you might be able to adapt it a bit....

Thanks for the tips ugger! Cutting the tubes longer is a good tip. He keeps his HAs in very well and asks for them now, which is good as he has had them for four and a half years!

I hope that he is as happy with having glasses. His sister, who is 4, will also have glasses - its practically the only thing they inherited from me as they are both mini-DH!

Thanks Ninja, I hope so too! He is funny about wearing certain things, like hats, so I am hoping that doesn't include glasses.

DS needed both and we managed to procure glasses with hearing attatched to the arms of the spectacles,,,,,brilliant until glasses broke and subsequently lost both so was buggered whilst being repaired Sad

Btw DD wears both with few problems except me nagging Grin
