An interesting listen. Written by a 13 year old boy with severe autism. It is in a question and answer format with questions like 'why do you ignore us when we talk to you'. This is asked as a genuine enquiry and makes you realise how often behaviours are dismissed as symptomatic and therefore meaningless. Even medical profs do this - DS1 is not non-verbal but he is practically selectively mute at consultations and so the talking to mum as if the child is not present extends from being a toddler to the child becoming a teenager.

Hi, Thanks for the recommendation. I've just listened to the first episode and despite the funereal music, thought it was really useful. I will definitely listen again. Thanks.

I have just come here to start a thread on this - it's brilliant :)

Really amazing, and insightful.

Provoked a row with my mum yesterday though, as she said she didn't believe it was written by a 13yo (with or without asd) as how could they be that articulate Hmm Sigh.

My mum just phoned to ask if I'd been listening to this. I went on to amazon to order it, but I see it's not out till 4th July. Can't wait to read it!
