I am going to read more about this theory.
I did see an Horizon program which showed skills which were embedded in the brain and did not need to be thought about to be performed (like an expert knitter can watch TV and doesn't need to think about knitting) showed up in one area of the brain, yet new skills as yet unlearned strongly light up areas of the brain while they were being learned, on an MRI. This seems to confirm what Karen Pape says.
