Family Fund... should i be worried i've not heard back?

I sent in our first ever application to family fund on 31st May, I know it takes ages to be completed, but just read on the website that they text you to let you know when its been received...but they haven't :-/

panicking its been lost in the post now?!

How long has it taken for other people to hear its been received?

or that anything is happening?

I know they must be really busy, so trying to avoid emailing them to ask if they have it because I don't want to cause them more work.

Also, how long has it taken people to get a decision for first applications?

Thanks in advance :) x

It took at least 8 weeks for us.

Thanks Lougle

was that to hear from them at all? or until you had a decision/award?

I'm just panicking because I read that they text you to say its been received...until I read that I was quite relaxed and just expecting to hear from them in a couple of months or so.

They didn't text me either. I emailed them to ask if the form had been received and they responded and said, yes it had been received but for first applications it can take up to 4 months - my form was sent on 10th May.

Thank you :)
Think I will wait a while then, and maybe email them in a few weeks or so if i've heard nothing then.

Is this your first application? Takes a lot longer the fist time.

kats3 · 01/07/2013 21:01

yes it is. I don't mind waiting, i'm just (irrationally) worrying its been lost in the post/ stolen / destroyed! :-/ lol

There is no harm in phoning them and asking.

They also have a FB page and are good at answering questions on there. You could ask on there.

never even thought about FB for that...will have a nose on there atleast :) thanks

I had a phone call last Tuesday and had someone from the organisation come and visit me for more information the next day.

I found emailing them to confirm receipt to be helpful.

Thanks JJXM
I know you said yours was sent on 10th May, but was it your 1st application? (hope you don't mind me asking, its just mine is my first application and was sent 31st May, so wondering if it may be same kind of time scale) Hmm
