Thinking about taking the kids to Guernsey at October half term and want to find somewhere we can let DS2 (5, Autism+PDA) 'off the lead' and not be seeing judgy faces everywhere. Self catering cottage probably most sensible as there are 5 of us.
Have asked on Travel but thought maybe some of you might have a recommendation?

I would probably go to Jersey the end of October. If the weather is good Guernsey is fab, but bloody miserable when it rains. Jersey does have more to do.

I agree, we used to stay with family on Guernsey every summer when I was a kid. There was loads to do but when I went back 10 years ago most things had disappeared. I felt the the tourist industry had been taken over by the banking industry. No offence Guernsey residents!

I wouldnt think there would be that much to except running on beaches. Personally I would go for Cornwall. There is tonnes to do and just as lovely beaches to run on. And a whole lot cheaper too Grin

Good luck whatever you decide Smile

We went to both Jersey and Guernsey about 10 years ago. I did like Guernsey more, it was much prettier but we did go in July so mainly a beach holiday.
