Searching for fellow Mums of babies with Hemimegalencephaly,
My unborn baby has been diagnosed with Hemimegalenceplahy. My consultant and specialist have been advising me on a Termination as if it is the best thing to do, Obviously I don't want to but I'm forced to realized that my baby's diagnosis is a severe one.
I know a horrible question but would you mums have considered terminating your pregnancy IF YOU had a diagnosis during pregnancy ?? I ask you this in relation to your baby/child's quality of life, health mobility and independence also the difficulty it has caused the family- including the relationship between you and your partners.
Does your child suffer painfully?
Are they independent ? If not are they capable of physical development ?
Do they have the possibility of being independent in the future ?
Did your babies function normally from birth ? breastfeed ?
I know each case is different, I am trying to get a vague possibility of the future we face.
Any information relating to the points I have made would be insightful for my partner and I we just have no idea what we face and need advice based on personal experience.
