Any suggestions on how to keep DS's weighted vest in place?

Hello lovely SN people.

DS has just got his vest and he loves it :)

However, he is a super skinny 6 year old and so I've had to take out all the weights bar the shoulder ones (to keep it within 5% of his body weight) but it slips backwards so that the weights are not on top of his shoulders but halfway down his back.

Obviously pulling it down at the front would work but it would be better if it didn't happen in the first place.

Any ideas?

Can you "snug" it up at the bottom/under his arms to hold it closer to his body?

I don't know how the vest is made, but for Bee, I place the weights in front/in back of her shoulders instead of on top to keep her vest from shifting.

Duh - I could take it in at the sides - that would help. The weights go over the shoulders so from armpit to armpit iyswim

I think they do anyway - I have to confess I've not actually looked at the construction so maybe I could do what you do.

Thanks :)

My pleasure. I made Bee's, and put pockets all over the inside of it so that the weights could be moved around. The sides are made of thick stretch lycra so that the vest can be snug around her midsection - and provide both compression/deep pressure and weight.

I am SO glad your DS is responding well to his vest - they can be a very effective tool, indeed.
