speech and language schools in Oxford area

Sorry....Oxford again! Just battling through provision with LEA ....does anyone know of any great speech and Language schools (Independent or State)....sadly internet research not revealing much!

I don't know if its still there, but Rosehill had a fantastic speech and language unit attached to the mainstream school.I did a placement at the school and the unit was recieving brilliant reports at the time.hth

Our LEA (not Oxford, but they prob do the same) produce a big booklet listing all the schools (with numbers of pupils entering etc) which they distribute to all parents who are about to register their child for school, and will send out to any others on request. It lists the (3) speech and language units (attached to m/s schools) in our county.

I have no idea how useful it is, but Gabbitas (www.gabbitas.co.uk, I think) are a sort of agency matching students with independant schools, and have some sort of advice service and / or search function and / or book to buy (maybe you can borrow from local library?) on INDEPENDENT schools for children with various SN.

www.isic.org.uk (I think) list most independent schools, but doesn't seem any use on which support SN and individual school websites are often not as much help as you would hope, especially if most of the school intake does not have additioanl needs and they are offering a unit / extra service. I think they may sell a book or have further advice too.
