I have sent off for the form, received it, now wondering whether to apply or not :-/

The only additional needs my child has is epilepsy (not quite controlled, but hopefully getting there now!) we get DLA, middle care, lower mobility.

has anyone else applied with epilepsy as the reason and been accepted?

also curious of what possible things can be awarded (I know of haven holidays & trampolines, but that's about it. lol)

thanks :)

DD1 has epilepsy (off meds now) and complex SN - special school, but is 'moderate'.

The first time she was awarded £400 for days out, £200 for garden toys, £100 for clothing.
The second time we asked for and got £400 towards a holiday
Then we didn't apply for a while.
This year, she's been awarded an IPad.

Thanks Lougle

When you say days out, was that vouchers for a particular place? sorry i'm being nosey, just curious as that's something I hadn't thought of asking for, but would be very useful for us and kids would really enjoy :)

in all honesty, id just be really pleased if we got some Haven vouchers, we took the kids last year on a Sun holiday which the kids loved, even after a terrible first few days due to our son being rushed to hospital within minutes of arriving due to seizures & spending the first 2 days there :-/ would be nice to make some better holiday memories! :)

No, it was £400 paid into the bank account. You have to keep receipts for 1 year after the award date in case they want to see that you've spent it on what it was allocated for.

wow! so you're not even restricted to particular places then, that's very good :)

DS gets HRC/LRM for autism. We've had FF vouchers for driving lessons, a bed, days out, an XBox and games, a laptop, iPad, clothes, TV, a holiday contribution (was staying with relatives abroad so Haven vouchers not suitable). We usually ask for a few things every year, although we don't always get granted everything on our list.

thank you, its interesting to see what others have applied for....it makes my brain kick in (I think its been over worked lately and given up!) E.g. you mentioning a bed, made me think about the fact that my son really could really do with a new mattress, so maybe I could put that down :)
