Ds has been going to a music group for over about 2 years, the woman who runs it is lovely, she has introduced a lot of makaton into the session, and really tries to get ds involved when he struggles.

There is a bit at the beginning of the group where she will take a couple of children by the hand and walk them around the circle to shake all the other children's hands. Ds has never been able to do it, I walk him around, and most times, he just won't go and gets very upset.

Today she took his hand, and he walked around with her, and shook everyone's hand and beamed at me as he came back!

It was such a moment that everyone cheered. I am so proud of him.Smile

Obviously all a bit much yesterday, ds was up for 3 hours last night, and slept through portage today. Then cried and hid his face the whole time his new community nurse was here!
