Appealing against parts 2 and 3 of the statement - do I have to write to the school stating that I want my son to stay?

As the heading says. Do I have to or is that only if appealing against part 4?

Thank you.

Is you school named in Pt 4?

This will stay the same unless you appeal against it. If your appeals are against Pts 2 and 3, that is what the tribunal will deal with.

However, you could mention this to your school just to keep good lines of communication.

Is there any dispute between you and school about the level of provision?

Yes, the school has been named in the final statement and I know that they are more than happy for him to stay there.

I am appealing against part 3 of the statement (as LEA have now made the requested change to part 2). On the appeal form, it says to write to the school telling them that I want him to stay there and including a copy of the letter with the appeal form along with a copy of their reply. But not sure if that's applicable if only challenging part 3.

Should add, the school and I are pretty much in agreement on what he needs. The problem is it is too ambiguous and nothing has been quantified.

That's good. Why not just send them a copy of your appeal notice? I get on with my son's school, and I just send them everything I file so they are in the loop and can't get caught on the hop by the LA!
