We are a family of mostly women and dp and ds are tge only males dd has regular contact with. Now when we see a female hcp she wont interact but just ignores them if its a male hcp she gets more distressed.

I wondered if its because she doesnt see men much.

Hi, I originally thought my my Ds preferred women who were always softly spoken (like his reception teacher) but I have since realized he prefers anyone who constantly has a smile on their face, he is unsure about anyone who doesn't.

ds2 prefers men & he is so much more receptive & interactive with men.
Like grinn says he also is not happy around anyone not smiling he interprets anything other than a smile as anger & thinks people are angry with him & gets upset.

ds responds better to men - he tries harder to please them. he particularly likes men who throw him up in the air and tickle him. This is getting harder for all concerned now he is a big lump of a 7 yo

Ds is just like polters :) unless your going to let him do his own thing then he will hate you whether you male or female.
He does however love babies until they can walk but once they start walking in his view they become human and fair game :(.

DS has always preferred males. He would even try and initiate communication with unfamiliar males, luckily he had a male TA in his first class and they moved the TA with DS when he moved class.
We did say we were a little worried about DS only responding to the male TA, and school worked on weaning him off. He still prefers the male TA, but he will work and respond to any of the female TA's now. He is much more accepting of any females now and our family females are thrilled, that after so many years of being ignored, they can now interact with DS.
