Three months since diagnosis still no report.

Dd was diagnosed with ASD at the beginning of December. The report and diagnosis in writing has not yet arrived despite repeated requests. I am feeling really frustrated as I want a detailed breakdown of their findings. Not sure where to go from here.

Also at the meeting where we were given the diagnosis we were asked if we wanted referral to CAMHS. I said not at this time as I know her anxieties are completely arising from the ASD and we have lots of techniques for handling them. Should I have said yes? I have since read on here that refusing such a referral is a cause for concern.

Any thoughts please?

If I remember correctly it took about 4 months to get our DX report after DX. Can't help about cams referral tho as we has 1 meeting post DX then he was discharged as in our area they don't have much to do with kids with asd.

Oh ok, well that's reassuring. Thanks for replying. It seemed to take much less time with ds but I think that was because the school were desperate for a statement to get him the help he needed.

We had a draft report within a couple of weeks asking if we wanted any amendments made then a final report a week later.

We waited 3 months for a copy of a letter that was sent to the gp that was 1 line saying she'd been diagnosed with mild/moderate ASD!

I have been ringing up about ours and get the feeling I am being annoying but over a month ago was told our report would be sent early the following week or we could come in for results. I chose to have the report at home then come in but now see that I should have gone for the appointment!

It's frustrating isn't it!
