HI Merlot, I've just been looking on the web and can't find any information about cdc's in that area - all I can find is info on the things available at the rsch children's unit, (don't know if this is your local hospital?) do you know of anywhere else? Your nursery sounds fabulous! What age do they take kids from?

I am ready to stand corrected (Lou33? ) but I dont think we have CDC's in this neck of the wood. We have something called Team Around The Child which is where all the main people involved with your child get together at regular intervals to discuss their needs/progress.

The nursery IS fabulous. It is in Farnham and the special needs aspect comes under the umbrella of the local Special School, yet it is set within a mainstream environment. If you want to know more detail CAT me if you like :)
They take children from 2 years providing they have been considered by the SLD panel to be suitable'. In our case, ds2 is there on assessment' which means he has a place whilst he is being assessed for a statement. If the outcome is that he doesnt need a statement (highly unlikely) then I guess he wouldnt be able to attend on a funded basis anymore.

Somerset- hmmm, worth a thought. We used to get loads of people coming there for BIBIC and The Kerland Center, (now Brainwave I believe) and some would move, we'd meet them through HomeStart. certainly, the PAed did us ann mergency appointment- however didn't experience much else before moving here.

I agree that Brighton & Hove is very good, and agree with 2shoes that the good special schools are to thank for this. The early intervention program is also great.

The health visitors are, on the other hand, useless.
