.....as you know DS is out of school, although we do have a home tutor she just goes along with me or does basic counting/phonics.

I have no topic as such atm so have no structure.

I need to change the apps on his ipad (closest he's got to a white board) as they are all Christmas but don't know what to put on.

Please help.

TIA x

what sort of thing does he like doing, dev? and what kind of level?

some of the apps I have used with dd1 are:

iWriteWords
ABCTracer
TeachMe (a range - there is TeachMe kindergarten/1st grade/etc)
Grasshopper apps - lots of spelling/reading.
Fun Words deluxe
iPlay&Sing
Montessori Words
Montessori Intro to Maths
abc pocketphonics
I see Ewe
Kindergarten.com apps - again, a range. Some are flashcard types, some are identifying objects/emotions/functions/etc. dd1 has loved these
Zap phonics
Letter Tracer
Mini piano
Old MacDonald's Farm
Toddler Teasers (a range again)
Tozzle
Open University OUr Story (really brilliant - you make up whatever you want using your own photos - flashcards, simple picture books - and add whatever text you want.)

umm, that's all that is on her iPad right now, but there will be more in my iTunes, so let me know what kind of thing you are after.

yes, he's pre-school but really lacks interest in learning. However the only apps so far that have attracted him are aniballs (a game) and roxy the star. Will take a look at all those silver thanks.

Just to add, he likes cars, football and dinosaurs.

I'm unsure what to teach zzzzz think with it following his latest assessment, they have said he doesn't need an academic curriculum. So really we haven't done much.

The last session we (the tutor and I) spent colouring in to an interactive colouring book dvd by crayola, while DS continued to do what he was doing, point blanked refused to do what we were doing.

Toca games like kitchen and hairdresser are great. Alo Hungry Fish, which is - I hope - finally going to teach my boy what addition is. Plus the fabulous ice cream game by Bamba. The jolly phonics DVD - only the extra feature called "saying the letter sounds" was great at that age

Thanks zzzzz I will look at it all and have took your advice on board. Have tbh DS is happier in himself, even though it's not without glitches but we aren't all happy as a family as yet, still have a way to go there any recommendations?

Was also on the hunt for some apps for ds....thank you! ;)

AgnesDiPesto · 16/01/2013 20:53

ds likes word searches

not academic at all but he has figured out jellycar rather impressively

does he like poissonrouge on the computer? if so they have a few apps you can download

online snakes and ladders is a current favourite game

school have introduced ds to 80's dance tunes in PE and he is currently requesting Black Lace tracks on youtube and doing the actions.

devientenigma · 16/01/2013 21:22

lol at Black Lace dances Agnes, I hope your joining in.

Ds hasn't been interested in anything other than flicking wheels on toy cars or lining them up.

Gonna find snakes and ladders tho and will take a look at jellycar, wordsearches are beyond him, doesn't recognize any letters.

Hope it's been helpful to you too bee

Thanks again zzzzz think it's also a lot to do with him not accessing any social settings.
