Anyone used or heard about Dr. Angel Adams - clinical psychologist

Got an appointment for initial assessment for Asperger's Syndrome with this clinical psychologist, hurray! But I just had a look at independant EP report and it says my son needs to be assessed at a clinic, including a paediatrician and psychiatrist. Now am not sure if title of clinical psychologist is okay. She has many years experience assessing for AS.

This should be fine, shouldn't it?

I can get an appoinment with a child and adolescent psychiatrist in East Sussex, found out today. It would not be as soon as next week and this is the issue I have, assessment needs to be done asap.

I know what to do now.

Could you phone the local parent partnership to ask them what your LEA's approach is? Or if you are in or near brighton you might be able to get help from Amaze which is an autism charity.www.amazebrighton.org.uk

Hi just wanted to say I know of Dr Angel Adams as well known and respected in ASD circles, and she has good team members working alongside her offering pediatric and psychiatrist services. My only direct involvement's with her have been on behalf of an adult, and via CAMHS reports helping prepare someone's tribunal case. I'd happily recommend her as knowledgeable and pragmatic.

I strongly DO NOT recommend using Dr Angel Adams services. She has no ability to see the roots of the problem or even grasp the problem. In addition to the existing problem she was making things worse by unnecessarily complicating the situation. She kept giving subliminal messages to both of us that we should not be together. I pointed this out and she apologized but carried on at the next sessions, which was scary so eventually we had to stop sessions with her. Her forecast was that me and my partner would not be back together for a number of years but we were back together in less than a month and on the same day I stopped our liaison with her due to the danger of her making things worse. This proved she cannot read people and doesn't comprehend the psychology. She was constantly using her biased and narrow-minded opinions on many subjects instead of using professional approach with applying theories that she supposed to know as a clinical psychologist. As it turned out she was contacting my partner privately and saying negative things about me. It is alarming that by letting someone in your relationship who you also pay money and who supposed to help with your situation, in reality such psychologist could turn both partners against each other.

There are no words that could describe what we have been going through for anyone not to use services of this so called professional. 1,5 years ago we made a decision to cancel session between my partner and her 25,5 hours in advance so I sent her a kind message apologising that he would not be able attend a session and she responded with a kind message pretending to thank me and wishing me best wishes. This month I learnt that she then went to bombard my partner with messages and phone calls. In the 1st message she was asking if he wanted to reschedule the session as she specifically wanted to hear it from him and ‘not me” as if my message was not clear and as if she didn’t respond with acknowledgement. As he didn’t respond she started phoning him and then sent 2nd inappropriate & unethical message: "Sorry to bother you but your partner has stopped payment on our session of £100 for a 2hr session in which she was late. Please can you send that to me and also I had cancelled plans on Saturday thinking you were coming and now feel so manipulated as she tried to make sure that would not happen. It is so disrespectful and creepy. Please can you send me the payment for your session that has been cancelled this Saturday. And I am happy to have you not pay for our skype session in the future. I am shocked at her behaviour and I need to be reimbursed as it is illegal to do this. Please transfer £200.And I look forward to a Skype session when it is convenient for both of us." She used lies, cheap & manipulative techniques to scare, frighten, embarrass my partner & to extort money from him & slander me behind my back.
At no point she contacted me to check what was wrong with the payment as I had no intention to withhold £100 but instead she went to accuse me behind my back without copying me in the texts. She had been set up as a payee and there should not have been any mistakes with the payment. Although it is irrelevant now but as I take such matters seriously I recently contacted my bank to see why the payment never went out. Their fraud team is investigating the case. She lied I was late - I have prove - numerous messages stating the agreed timing & further messages even detailing what time my train would arrive & her confirmation that she had cancellation after me & we could go over time. She had no right to extort money for the Saturday session as it was cancelled 25,5 hrs in advance. It sounds as if I interrupted the session that she really wanted with my partner and she was contacting him directly which is so wrong. My partner and I are not her own property and we have the right to make our own decisions. We are in position to cancel the appointment or completely stop any liaison with her, if we wished to. We never arranged any other sessions in person/Skype. If we decided not to work with her then it was obvious that no other sessions would have to be paid so this is clear she used this nonsense to once again manipulate my partner and force him to pay and to at least get money for the cancelled session on Saturday. Terminology Illegal is totally unacceptable as on the contrary her actions were illegal as she extorted money from my partner and defamed my character. Its clear she was desperate to get more business from individual sessions with him.
She knew our vulnerable situation that my partner and I were not on good terms and she took advantage of him. The last thing my partner had to hear was negative things about me. Since she was considered to be a clinical psychologist, my partner accepted her negative statements and started to undermine me. She could not contact my partner directly and express her personal negative opinion or accuse me of anything. It is unprofessional and unethical & she could not be trusted. Instead of help, her inappropriate conduct caused a lot of anxiety, pain, anger and damage to our relationship. It caused unnecessary distress, sleeping disorder to me and my family, my partner started behaving differently and it have further affected my marriage. I have been being severely affected and I regret this individual continued to operate for more than 1,5 years. For a psychologist to express such strong opinions is never acceptable. She behaved as two faced and unhappy person and it is clear she wants to break up people more so she could get more business from her sessions. It has affected me emotionally and made strong psychological impact on my well being & I don’t want others to be in my place & she cannot hurt other people. I have to warn this individual: if you ever contact my partner again, we will report you to the police & put a restriction order.
