Contact your LEA for the HI (Hearing Impaired) team. They will assign a teacher of the deaf to go and visit the school and advice on strategies to help him (e.g. sat close to the teacher, reduce outside noise). He might need hearing aids too, so an appointment at the GP for referral to audiologist. The NDCS has a very good helpline.

My Ds is 6 and profoundly deaf. He wears hearing aids. He meets other deaf kids through our local NDCS group. Whereabouts are you? Our SW London group has an outing to the Tower of London next saturday.

Do you think you could approach MNHQ and go through their media/research section, rather than bumping up lots of zombie threads on a board which is primarily about support and advice. Thanks.
