Hi There I just thought I let everyone know, whas in Clarks today getting my DS measured for his new AFO when they told me the odd shoe scheme was starting tomorrow 11th April, they even put DS shoes aside for me to come and get them, said there should be about 25% discount on the second pair. I am very impressed as it was only on Watchdog last week! And I didn't even watch it!

Oh I see, My son wears AFOs on both feet so not a problem for us, but a great idea :)

Pity it took a petition from the STEPS charity and the risk of embarrassment on Watchdog to get them to reconsider.

But yes it's good news Grin

mumball · 12/04/2006 09:39

Do all the other shoe shops have this scheme then?

what are AFO?

mumball · 12/04/2006 09:51

bought my DS shoes right side 13 and half (H)
left side 11 and half. (E)

two pairs would have been sixty four pounds but with discount was forty-four pounds

Why not charge per shoe so parents don't have to pay more than others just buying a same size pair. Couldn't they have a database of odd shoes that they could use to match pairs or sell to kids who need different sizes. 25% doesn't sound like a huge discount. Kids shoes are so expensive as it is.

gscrym · 12/04/2006 09:55

Do they do it for adults too? I'm a 5 on one side and an 8 on the other.

alexsmum · 12/04/2006 09:59

gscrym! that's a big difference!

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 12/04/2006 10:27

I think the STEPS website has an odd shoe partners forum where you can try to find someone who needs the opposite match to yourself.

Yay!!!!!

I was appalled when I saw watchdog - glad they've seen the light (even if they were bullied into it)
