OK, so the LA have agreed to Statutory Assessment thank heavens and I am waiting for OT assessment as part of ''gathering information''

Is there anyone else who could provide assessments or people who may be useful should I need it, for a child with ASD, Dyslexia & Language delay. The following people have already provided reports.

LA EP -
Camhs -
NHS SALT -
Private SALT -
Ind. Education Psychologist with Dyslexia Action -

I just don't want to miss anything really important out.

Also, Who do I contact at school, with regards to absence being recorded. sorry for the bloody obvious question

That sounds like a good list.
The LEA ( at least here they did) insist on you seeing a medical doctor too who writes a report about general health. You will get a letter about that though from them.
We also included anything else we had, so we had a report from the autism outreach worker, we also got the staff at a playscheme DS attended to prepare a report for us, and the out of school support people who provide help and extra hours for Sn's children to attend ordinary playschemes had been involved and we have their report too. - Basically any out of school activity that may write a report for you to support what you are saying can be included within parental evidence.

School (class teacher or senco probably) should produce a report, and this will be taken pretty seriously so get them on side

Does anyone know who I need to speak to, regarding the un-authorised absence. Oh and also, do we start back at the beginning or is this from when they accept?

Tbh school and SENco don't have a clue what she's like as its first year of high school and previous to that, dd was only at junior school for year 6, because of bullying at previous school.

It is 20 weeks from the day you were informed LA no longer opposes your appeal so about April time you should get a statement ..... (6 weeks taken off from total 26 weeks as this is length of time it took for LA to decide whether to go ahead with a statutory assessment)

No. You need nothing. THEY are supposed to do the legwork at this stage.

If they bodge it up, then you can appeal the contents of the statement and at that point you book your own EP or professional that will do a better job of identifying needs.

I thought it was purely 20weeks from Friday 16 November however I didn't know how that would be interpreted by them.

So I can really take a break and look at specialist provisions for her. Wow, it's going to be weird not fighting them for a while :)

That's right, rest at ease for awhile, you so deserve it !!! start looking at special schools as once you receive the draft statement, you have 15 days to give the LA your choice of school.
I'm a parent of a child in the midst of a statutory assessment (we also did not have to go to tribunal), I can identify with your sense of relief.

I have heard of several excellent schools (Surrey, Hampshire, Kent) that cater for ASD and Dyslexia, not sure about Language Delay (guessing that is helped with Speech & Language Therapy?) .. Otherwise good old google will bring up options or special needs school guide. Best wishes.
