CAHMS what is it please

Hi
I have been having trouble with DS2 at school and they have asked me to go to the GP and ask for a CAHMS assesment.
Can anyone help me please to understand what this is and what it involves?

Our camhs were amazing with dd1 they liased with school and were fab. We are currently awaiting an app with them for dd2
